Consul General Özlem Kural assumed her role as the Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Shanghai on September 15, 2024. She was born in Antalya in 1974. She completed her undergraduate studies in 1996 at Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of International Relations.

Starting her career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1997, Consul General Kural has held various positions within the Ministry, including at the Deputy Directorate General for Bilateral Political Affairs, the Deputy Directorate General for Bilateral European Affairs and the Deputy Directorate General for Migration, Asylum and Visas.

Additionally, she served at the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Muscat/Oman. She also worked as Vice Consul at the Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in Hannover/Germany; Second Secretary at the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Lefkoşa and First Secretary at the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Berlin/Germany. She held the position of Counsellor and Deputy Permanent Representative at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Türkiye to the United Nations Office in Geneva/Switzerland.

Consul General Kural speaks English and German and also has intermediate knowledge of French.
